My name is Abby Sunderland and for years it has been my dream to sail around the world. I've been around the water and on boats since I was 6 months old. Watching my brother Zac Sunderland sail around the world in 2009 made me realize my dream could come true with lots of hard work, support and perseverance. In January 2010, I set sail around the world on Wild Eyes, an Open 40 sailboat. I chronicled my trip through my blog. On June 10, 2010, Wild Eyes was rolled 360 degrees by a massive rogue wave, tearing off my mast, completely disabling Wild Eyes and ending my trip. I have learned much about overcoming difficulties and what constitutes a true spirit of adventure. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with a fantastic team to tell my story in a book and Documentary DVD. Thank you to my family, friends, sponsors and Team Abby.
